Passport compulsory
Since 1 June 1994, it has been compulsory to provide proof of identity in the Netherlands. In certain situations, any citizen can be asked to identify themselves. This also applies to all visitors to the Nationaal Archief (since 1 April 2003). For non-Dutch citizens a passport is the only form of identification we can accept.
